Policy on Compliance with Academic Integrity
Academic integrity is one of the fundamental principles underlying the development of modern science, scholarly publishing, and the university community. Adherence to its principles by authors, reviewers, and editors ensures the high academic standard of Bulletin of Cherkasy University. Series: Physical and Mathematical Sciences, contributes to strengthening its scholarly reputation, increasing citation impact, and expanding its readership.
In its activities, the Editorial Office is guided by the current legislation of Ukraine, in particular the Law of Ukraine On Academic Integrity, the provisions of the Laws of Ukraine On Education and On Higher Education, as well as the internal regulatory documents of the journal’s founder, namely the Code of Academic Integrity and Corporate Ethics of Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy.
In accordance with the legislation of Ukraine, academic integrity is understood as a set of values, principles, and rules of conduct that must be observed by all participants in academic activity in the course of research, educational, editorial, and publishing work.
During the editorial processing and preparation of materials for publication, the following violations of academic integrity may be identified:

unlawful appropriation of authorship;

academic plagiarism;
-
unjustified inclusion of individuals among the authors;

self-plagiarism;
-
data fabrication;
-
falsification of results;
-
unethical use of materials created with the assistance of artificial intelligence;
-
other forms of misconduct предусмотрені by law.
At the same time, unintentional errors, technical inaccuracies, or scholarly differences in the interpretation of research results are not considered violations of academic integrity.
All appeals and reports concerning possible violations of academic integrity are submitted to the Editor-in-Chief for consideration.
Editorial actions in the event of suspicion
In the event of a well-grounded suspicion of a violation of academic integrity, the Editorial Office has the right to:

temporarily suspend the editorial consideration of the manuscript;
-
contact the author(s) with a request for written explanations;
-
conduct a review in accordance with the current legislation of Ukraine and the internal regulations of the University.
If, based on the explanations provided, it is established that the issue concerns an unintentional error, the situation may be resolved by making the appropriate corrections.
If a violation is confirmed, the Editorial Office has the right to:
-
reject the manuscript;
-
retract material that has already been published;
-
temporarily restrict the submission of new materials by authors who have committed a violation.
If a violation is identified after the article has already been published, the Editorial Office publishes an official notice explaining the situation and, where necessary, issues a correction or retracts the material.
Violations by reviewers or editors
If the suspicion concerns a reviewer or a member of the Editorial Board, that person is removed from participation in the editorial process for the duration of the review.
For established violations, measures are applied in accordance with Article 19 of the Law of Ukraine On Academic Integrity.
Consideration of issues relating to violations committed by University employees is carried out in accordance with the current legislation of Ukraine and the Code of Academic Integrity and Corporate Ethics of Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy, with the involvement of the head of the relevant structural unit.
Rights of the person subject to review
A person whose possible violation of academic integrity is under review has the right to:
-
examine the review materials and submit comments on them;

provide written or oral explanations personally or through a representative;
-
be informed in advance of the date, time, and place of the consideration of the matter;
-
appeal the decision in accordance with the procedure established by the legislation of Ukraine.
